November 2021 Employee of the Month:

Kwame Sanderson

​

Kwame has worked at Colony about 2 years. He currently operates a broom sweeper tractor on Dylan Tyree’s milling crew. Family is very important to Kwame and one of the things he likes best about Colony is his crew---his work family, who have given Kwame the nickname “KAS”. Recently he has enjoyed cross training on different equipment and is now learning about paving machines. Kwame, originally from Goochland, moved to Powhatan about ten years ago.

Outside of work Kwame loves to spend time with his family. He has a 4 year old son, Kwa-mari, a 1 year old daughter Kasie, and his baby girl angel in heaven Kassidy. Kwame is also a music lover and a Seattle Seahawks fan. He is hoping that Russell Wilson and the boys have a better year in 2022.

Tiffany Chapman who is a sweeper truck operator for Colony has this to say about Kwame. “I nominate him because of his positive can-do outlook. He’s VERY much a team player and always has a smile. He has made my day easier and better very consistently”.
