August 2023 Employee of the Month:

Blake Osborne

​

Blake has been with Colony for 4 years as a Mechanic in our Equipment Shop. He just came off night work and he said he is more of a night person and really enjoyed his time working on nights.

 

Blake said, a favorite thing about his job are the people he gets to work with. He also said he really likes fabricating and loves working on the pavers. Blake added, “I really love what I do for work, so I consider my job as my hobby.” Fun Fact: Blake is the son of one of our Paving Foremen, Carl Osborne.

 

Outside of work Blake loves to spend time with his friends and his family. This weekend, him and a group of his friends are going camping. He said he’s happy that it’s fall and really enjoys the cooler weather.

 

Project Superintendent, Eddie Fields had great things to say about Blake. “On night shift operations he has shown nothing but hard work and dedication to his job. He was always a phone call away when he was needed. If he was finished with everything he had to complete and the plant went down, he wouldn’t hesitate to climb the silo so that the plant would be operational for day shift operations.”

 

Milling Foreman, Dylan Tyree also complimented Blake. “Blake has been the only Mechanic on night shift since we started nights. He is always a help and does what he can for one man and sometimes even does more than you would think one man can do. He is an asset to the field crews and is much appreciated.”
