October 2021 Employee of the Month:

Justin Haislip

 

Justin has worked at Colony for about 2 ½ years. He is a milling machine operator who came to Colony when his brother Derek Haislip encouraged him to apply for a job. Justin said not many people know we are brothers and we mess with each other at work when we get to see each other. (Derek has worked at Colony since 2017 in our Paving Division).

Justin said Colony took him out of his shell and challenged him because he had not worked around heavy equipment in the past. Justin, or “Big Red” as he has been nicknamed currently operates a Milling Machine on Alex Gibbs Milling crew.

​

Alex had this to say about Justin. “Justin takes pride in his work and has taken good care of the new 207 Mill. He did an amazing job on Rt. 360 at night making sure the joints were straight. Justin helps out anyway he can and comes to work everyday. He always checks in with me to see what the plan is for each day.”

​

Justin enjoys playing blues rock guitar in his spare time and likes to 4-wheel on riding trails in West Virginia. Justin will be a first time Dad to a baby boy in March!
