VDOT ORDER 311

Order 311 is a Virginia Department of Transportation project we were awarded within the Lynchburg district. VDOT Order 311 encompasses the counties of Buckingham, Charlotte and Cumberland. We have partnered with Adams Construction Company on this project as a subcontractor and they will be responsible for the road maintenance in Charlotte County. An estimated 45,000 tons of asphalt is expected to be used on this project. Some of the Routes seeing this work will include: 15, 20, 45, 47, 56, 59 & 60. Order 311 began at the end of August and will be completed by December of this year.

VDOT ORDER 408

Order 408 is another Virginia Department of Transportation project we were awarded within the Richmond district. VDOT Order 408 will include milling, overlay, patching, night work and day work. An estimated 80,000 tons of asphalt is scheduled to be used before completion. This project encompasses the counties of Amelia, Chesterfield and Powhatan. A few of the routes that will be paved include: Rte 604 in Amelia, Routes 1 & 10 in Chesterfield and Routes 13 & 60 in Powhatan.  This job began in late April 2016 and is scheduled to be completed by the beginning of December 2016.

VDOT ORDER 307

We recently had the privilege of being awarded multiple VDOT projects for the 2016 calendar year. One of these projects being VDOT Order 307. This job has taken us into Buckingham and Cumberland counties for the purpose of milling and paving some of Virginia’s fine highways. Critical routes such as US15,US20, US56, and US60 leading through these counties are just a few of the routes that will be receiving some TLC. Nearly 60,000 tons of asphalt hauled in from Colony’s asphalt plants are scheduled to be used. Colony’s work on the project began at the end of March and is anticipated to be completed by the beginning of September 2016.

VDOT 409

VDOT Order 409 was a plant mix schedule and consisted of two sections of roadway in Chesterfield County. The first section was along Route 360 where Colony trench widened the roadway and deep milled and overlayed a section of the roadway.  The second section was a deep mill and overlay on Route 60 near Sycamore Square.  Rideability Bonus was achieved on this project.  Colony installed a total of 13,273 tons of intermediate mix and 10,436 tons of surface mix.   This project was completed on August 13, 2013.

VDOT C75

Located on Interstate 85 in Brunswick County, VDOT Order C75 was the second Interstate paving project for Colony. Completed in approximately 60 days during the same time period as VDOT Order B55. The scope of the project was to mill and overlay the asphalt pavement, localized patching of the mainline where needed, install rumble strips, replace asphalt curbing and replace existing guardrail. Rideability Bonus was achieved on this project.  Colony installed a total of 11,826 tons of intermediate mix and 9,834 tons of surface mix. This project was completed on October 25, 2013.

VDOT B55

VDOT Order B55 was located on Interstate 85 in Brunswick County and was the first interstate paving job in Colony’s history.  This project included deep milling and overlaying the existing travel lanes and shoulder in three separate sections on I85, as well as installing underdrains, asphalt curb, rumble strip and replacing the guardrail.  Rideability Bonus was achieved on this project.  Colony installed 12,762 tons of base mix, 24,583 tons of intermediate mix, and 26,607 tons of surface mix on this project.  It was completed on December 13, 2013.
